  • Search Engines
If you haven't already noticed, I've installed some some search engines into TJN:
    - One for the main site, which is available on the left sidebar of every page
    - One for SFX Translations, which available on the main page of SFX Translations
    - And one general one for Graphics only on the main page of Grpahics

Use them, enjoy them, try not to break them XD.

    Higher Resolutions
As promised in a previous post, I've now included resolutions for HD-1080 Full High Definition. This means you have 16:9 ratio: 1920x1080, 1600x900, 1365x768, 1280x720...

    Quality Check
A big thank you to people who sent in reports about the low image quality of wallpaper downloads! After checking over the code, I realized JPEG artifacts were being generated with overenthusiastic compression scripts. This has been fixed.

I have also taken the time (omg the time...) to raise the quality of all the wallpaper downloads from the raw files, so not only the coding side but the image side is now at a whole new level of quality.

Thank me. Love me. Worship me.
(..or bribe me with ice cream. But I'm NOT going through all those wallpapers again! TT_TT)

    Hellos and Goodbyes
I'd also like to take a moment to say hello and goodbye to some awesome people I've had the privilege of getting to know over the years:

First, a warm welcome to TJN's newest affiliate, Flyin' from Pixel Ellipsis! A wallpaper resource website stock full of amazing creations with Flyin's stylish touch. Be sure to pay her a visit!! :D

Second, an appreciative farewell to Fiona and Kikyou from Komet Tails Designs. Their site has been among the oldest, successful anime-based graphics websites I've ever known, and have been great Senpais to the anime web community. Though they have decided to close their sites down, I hope they'll continue to design great things in the future. Best wishes Fiona and Kikyou! Thanks for being awesome friends of TJN (better known as Dragonrain at the time) :).

    SUDDEN DEATH CONCLUSION.

    Edit 05-30-10
If you haven't noticed, SFX Translations is now a part of the main domain :). This will make it much easier to update (as I am always getting new requests for more sfx's). It also uses the usual TJN scripts I wrote, so you guys can give feedback as well.
Thanks to everyone support SFX Translations!! It's really encouraging to know it's making itself useful :D.

If you're seeing this update, that means the new server has propagated (gotta love that term) to your internet-savvy part of the world. Supposedly this upgrade is supposed to make things faster, so we'll see.
If you run into any errors, please let me know. In any case, I've got my error loggers on the watch for any weird happenings, so if you hit any weird dead ends, chances are I'll see it anyway :P.

Welcome to theJADED Network, the new home of Dragonrain.Com! \^o^/

After thinking about it for several years, it actually took me about 20 minutes to make the final decision to make this move. The Pros outweighed the Cons by several points, so it really just boiled down to "why the hell not?"

The Million Dollar Question that I always get through visitor feedback is where I got the name DRAGONRAIN from. Pretty simple really:
I liked dragons. They're cool. I liked rain (still do). Fun to dance in.
    Dragons + Rain = Dragonrain.
Now I'm a few years older and it's time for a change.

The JADED? Overindulgence; a disreputable or ill-tempered woman; cynically or pretentiously callous.
YESH. I am (and TJN is) all of these things wrapped into one pretty, ticking birthday present. Perfect name *w*.

CODING HAZARD I seriously had some old and molding code clogging up the site, and to seriously clean it all up meant flipping a lot of the structure inside-out. So I did. With a shiny new name tag and everything.

So what's so great about TJN?

CLEAN CODE Yup. That won't matter to 99.9% of you. But it makes me happy.

CLEAN STYLES means it's PRETTIER. Hey, I like pretty.

Easier-to-update Structure which, again, won't matter to 99.9% of you. But in the long run it means I won't take so long to update anymore (let's hope so?).

A main page that MAKES SENSE 'nuff said.

Wiiiiidescreen Previews for those walls that have widescreen.

More resolutions because I actually went through the 150+ wallpapers I had on file and RESIZED them all. OMFG.

On another note, I have decided to stop supporting IE6 (aka Internet Explorer 6). It's a browser that should've died ten years ago (maybe even more than that), and there's no reason for me to put in extra hours of coding to make TJN work for people still living in the stone ages. Sorry. But you need to upgrade...to FIREFOX.
FYI all you web-savvy people out there: Even GOOGLE has dropped this dying browser.

    // Note added 05.14.10
Or Google Chrome. Though the only official release is for Windows right now...there IS a beta version for Mac and Linux.

With all that said I'm gonna need your help with bug reporting. I checked through most of the pages, but I am not a god. So please shoot me an email if something looks funny.
