You have to remember that China is a communist country as well, and its difficult to understand their reality as opposed to other countries. Here in the US we don't think about things like that because we've become so adjusted and open to the idea that everyone should have a say and equal to human rights. In China everyone follows, or else.
I was watching the news shortly after the Olympics ended and there was a short on how two 80 year old ladies were sent to 'correctional camp' because they decided to protest against the building of new renovations for the Olympics that tore down their homes. Turns out the government let them fill out forms so they could protest, and then went out, found them all, and either arrested them or sent them to the camps.

Wow... that's... I haven't been watching any of the Olympics this year so I had no idea about all this.
Sadly, I don't really feel like I'm missing much by not watching the Olympics this year and I have no idea why I'm the opposite of so many other people in not having any interest in it. Strange? Maybe...
But yeah, that is all so crazy and messed up. X_X
Scary.

So I'm not the only one that somehow got sucked into these Olympics either. Except, I haven't been catching it every night; instead I've been staying up way too late to watch it.
There's just so much controversy, but it happens with several of the Olympics from what I remember.
I have yet to watch the women's gymnastics so I can't say anything. #5 was fairly disappointing to me too since it gives such a bitter aftertaste. I really need to go there eventually since I've only seen it from afar in Macau so many years ago.

You are totally right.
Nice to see that someone has the courage to say that.
China is really bothering be a good, or porbably the best, scene of the Summer Olympics. But, and this is the bad thing about that, China is doing this by domineering their unloved (don't know if that makes sense in English. Should mean "people they don't like"...) citizens.
The German newscast sometimes reported about the Chinese human rights activist Hu Jia. Now he is in prison just for saying his oppinion! And his wife and his little son are allways on a watch...
"5. Looks are Everything
The Chinese National Anthem was sung by seven-year-old Yang Peiyi. However, the Chinese government decided she was "too ugly" for their image, and was not allowed to make an appearance during her performance. Instead, she was replaced by a cuter girl with pigtails and a red dress."
Heard that in the news...
Terrible thing.
So far from Germany,
Jimmy
