The Synopsis
This story takes place a few years after the end of the prequel series, Gundam Seed. Shinn Asuka, a refugee from the nation of Orb, finds himself among the top elites in the ZAFT military as "one in red" (the color of the uniform of the elite). After losing his family and beloved sister to a tragic accident under the crossfire of Kira Yamato's Freedom gundam while protecting Orb from the Eart Alliance Raider, Calamity, and Forbidden gundams. Wrought with despair and bitterness, Shinn battles for the sake of protecting - to make up for his loss by doing what he can now. However, he is very "impulsive" as he pilots the newest ZAFT gundam, the Impulse, against the reemergence of the war that everyone hoped had already ended two years ago. Throughout the story, Shinn meets the legendary Athrun Zala, Kira Yamato, Cagalli, and the legendary warship the Archangel. Now it's a question of how much he is willing to forgive - if at all.
Phase 50: Final Plus - The Chosen Future
[Special Episode]
The Clyne Faction powers united with Orb forces, and of course with Kira Yamato in the Strike Freedom and Athrun Zala in the Infinite Justice, along with some old ZAFT friends from Gundam Seed (the prequel) battle to destroy the ZAFT military base, the Messiah. This OVA is a complete re-make of the Phase 50 The Final Power in Gundam Seed Destiny. There were a few major changes, and plenty of minor ones: Athrun appears with Kira in their last meeting with the Chairman before the Messiah completely collapses; extra battle scenes (mainly of characters grunting or shouting curses and orders); Kira's "order" for forces to withdraw from protecting the Eternal in order to fulfill their mission; Shinn no longer dumped on the moon and forgotten, but picked up by a sympathetic Athrun in his Infinite Justice after the battle is over; and last and the best - the meeting between Kira and the volatile Shinn at the monumental site dedicated to those lost in the final battle.
