Kyoto Bamboo Forest

Tuesday, June 2, 2009 | Posted by Jay One of the best natural sights-to-see in Japan is the bamboo forest. I was lucky enough to find one on the edge of central Kyoto. It surrounds Nonomiya Jinja (Jinja or ç¥žç¤¾ means "Shrine"), and also has a few cemeteries nearby. The whole place had a very nice zen feel to it - very quiet and peaceful. Great place to start or end any day.

Here are some pictures of the bamboo...it was near sunset when I got there so the light was very pretty. You could see the sun setting through the forest.
