Hello! If you didn't already know, my name is Jay Lee. I have recently been selected to study abroad in Kyoto, Japan from March 2009 - August 2009. While I am there, I will be furthering my study of marketing strategies through the use of modern technology several years ahead of the United States. I will be continuing on to my fourth and final year as an Arts major with a Digital Arts minor, and with almost four years of professional experience as a graphic and website designer. This opportunity will enhance my college experience by giving me new international perspectives on how far technology can take us in a consumer-driven economy. My purpose is also to immerse myself in these new experiences to expand my understanding of Japan's unique Asian culture beyond the U.S. borders. And most importantly, this information will create opportunities to share my experiences with others in my community.
This semester in Kyoto costs roughly $15,600. This amount includes:
Program FeesAdministrative Fees - $4,239.00
Mandatory Health Insurance - $115.00
Personal ExpensesRoom & Meals-Estimate - $7,895.00
Incidentals/Transportation/Books - $1,740.00
National Health Insurance - $55.00
Estimated Pre-Departure Expenses - $300.00
Estimated Round-Trip Airfare - $1,300.00
Although this might seem like a lot of money, the once-in-a-lifetime knowledge and experiences from this semester will prove invaluable for both my future and college career.
How You Can Help
I have already raised a lot on my own, and with your help I will achieve this goal! Every penny can count. If a hundred people donated $2 each, that's $200! (I originally started at $1, but I found out later that Paypal takes almost half of that in fees @_@.)
Any small contribution is greatly appreciated :).
